This is the simplest screen available that detects both Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis in a single screen. This test is the least expensive screen available and looks for two of the most common pathogens which in some cases are usually found together. This screen is recommended for situations where the physician has a fairly good idea that one of these pathogens is the cause of the patient problems.

The test uses is a Real Time PCR technique which after extraction of the DNA of the pathogen enables more copies of it to be made in a reaction tube. The system will then tell you if it’s present or absent based on whether DNA amplification occurs.

The test sample is a urine sample or an endocervical Swab.

The turnaround time for this test is 3 – 5 business days. Turnaround times begins when samples get to our facility.
