CARIGEN’s CMV/EBV/HHV6 Panel is a test for three other members of the Herpes family. Each presents its own symptoms and may be transmitted in different ways. Herpes viruses establishes life-long latency and can become reactivated later in life.

The test utilizes a Real-Time PCR Amplification test for the quantitative detection and differentiation of Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) and Human Herpes 6 Virus (HHV6) in biological materials. Analysis is by extraction of the DNA followed by the PCR which enables more copies of it to be made in a reaction tube. The system will then tell you which of the three (3) or in combination is present or absent based on whether DNA amplification occurs.

The test sample is a urine sample, endocervical swab, blood or CSF fluid.

The turnaround time for this test is 3 – 5 business days. Turnaround times begins when samples get to our facility.
