Adenoviruses (HAdV) are a common cause of respiratory illness. Symptoms include the common cold, pneumonia, croup, and bronchitis the virus is also implicated in other illnesses: gastroenteritis, conjunctivitis, cystitis, and less commonly, neurological diseases. Adenoviral infections affect infants and young children much more frequently than adults.
