HPV Screen
About 99% of cervical cancers are caused by twelve high-risk HPV genotypes. Our HPV High-Risk Screen is a real-time PCR test that detects these types, reports the group the virus belongs to, and measures how much virus is present. The result includes the HPV type (genotype), so you know which of the twelve types was found, not just that high-risk HPV is present.
Used alongside a Pap smear, the HPV DNA test helps guide cervical cancer management — as a prognostic indicator, as a follow-up when Pap results are inconclusive, and in setting screening intervals.
